Reference Management Software: RefWorks: Getting Started
Introduction to RefWorks
RefWorks is a reference management software that helps users organise and manage references. RefWorks is available for free to all Wrexham University Students. Key features of RefWorks include:
Reference management |
RefWorks allows you to store, organise, and format your references from various sources like books, journal articles, websites, and more, in your own personalised RefWorks library. |
Reference list generation |
You can automatically generate a reference list in different citation styles, including institutional styles such as Wrexham Harvard. |
Integration with word processors |
RefWorks can be integrated with Microsoft Word or Google Docs to directly insert citations into your work as you write and generate a reference list within your document. RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) is installed in Word for Wrexham University students and will already be available on your toolbar. |
Accessing RefWorks
To create an account, go to https://refworks.proquest.com/ and select ‘Create Account’. Enter your student email address and password and follow the instructions to activate your account.
RefWorks Support
Further guidance on using RefWorks is available at RefWorks® Training.
We are aware that there are various referencing software available. However, due to the inconsistencies and errors that these resources make, we do not endorse the use of any other referencing software at Wrexham University.
